AlgoSec updates Horizon with cloud security automation

AlgoSec has released version A33.30 of its Horizon security management platform for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
The update adds tools for application delivery, policy automation, risk analysis and compliance reporting in a single platform.
Security teams are dealing with growing complexity as businesses spread workloads across data centres, public cloud services, private cloud systems, software-defined networks, Kubernetes and software-as-a-service applications. Companies often manage security with separate tools and manual processes, slowing changes and creating gaps in oversight.
The latest version of Horizon is designed to unify application connectivity governance across those environments. It extends support for Check Point Smart-1 Cloud, including traffic simulation, query and risk assessment functions.
It also broadens support for other cloud-managed security platforms, including Palo Alto Networks Strata Cloud Manager features, Azure Firewall automation, Google Cloud security services and AWS Network Firewall. This is intended to give security teams a single operational view of application connectivity and policy across their infrastructure.
Automation focus
A33.30 places particular emphasis on reducing manual policy work. The release includes enhanced workflows, new REST APIs and artificial intelligence-based natural language queries, alongside added automation for Azure Firewall.
According to AlgoSec, the update combines application discovery, flow-level recertification, traffic simulation, impact analysis and policy automation to help teams assess dependencies before making network or security changes. The aim is to cut deployment delays and reduce troubleshooting when applications are updated or moved.
The compliance side of the release includes new reporting for NIS2 and updated frameworks for PCI DSS and SWIFT. AlgoSec also added expanded risk intelligence, custom tag-based risk definitions and updated cloud security analysis tools to help teams identify and address risks continuously.
The announcement comes as cybersecurity suppliers increasingly pitch unified platforms to customers trying to manage policy, compliance and cloud security through fewer consoles. Large organisations in particular have struggled with fragmented oversight as their infrastructure has expanded beyond traditional on-premises networks.
AlgoSec, which focuses on application-centric security management, said more than 2,300 organisations use its products. Its business is built around software that maps application connectivity, automates security policy changes and tracks compliance across hybrid environments.
Eran Shiff, Chief Product Officer at AlgoSec, said the company is seeing demand for fewer standalone tools and more consolidated operations.
