Endra opens London, US offices after USD $50 million raise

Endra has opened offices in New York, San Francisco and London, expanding the Stockholm-based company into the US and UK markets.

The company is looking to grow its software business for mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering after raising USD $50 million in a Series A round led by Andreessen Horowitz.

Endra sells an artificial intelligence platform for MEP engineering teams, which handle the systems needed to run modern buildings. Their work includes system design, device placement, routing, coordination between disciplines and the production of technical documentation used by contractors.

Endra argues that these workflows still rely heavily on manual processes despite growing pressure on project schedules. Demand from data centres, hospitals, electrified buildings and other complex projects is adding strain to a sector already facing labour shortages.

MEP engineering typically accounts for just 1% to 5% of a building project's total cost, but it sits at the centre of the design and delivery process. Delays in that work can affect wider construction timetables, making it a persistent bottleneck for developers, consultants and contractors.

The global market for MEP services exceeds USD $150 billion a year, according to Endra. The company is targeting engineering consultancies, particularly larger firms seeking to standardise work and reduce the time needed to complete routine design tasks.

Its platform works with standard building model files and integrates with building information modelling tools such as Revit. The software reconstructs a building in a 3D environment and automates parts of system design, model generation and documentation, Endra said.

According to the company, an electrical design for a 500,000-square-foot commercial building that would usually take about two months can be completed in less than a day. That claim is central to Endra's pitch to firms facing tight deadlines, staffing gaps and a growing volume of complex projects.

US focus

The US is central to the company's expansion plans, with New York serving as its North American headquarters and San Francisco as its West Coast base. Co-Founder and President Anton Juric is leading the push into the US market.

Endra is already in discussions with engineering consultancies across the country, including several large firms. The London office will serve customers in the UK and support work with enterprise clients across Europe and the Middle East.

"Having spent the past year in discussions with the largest design firms in the world, one thing has become clear: the shift to AI-native engineering is underway," said Anton Juric, Co-Founder and President, Endra. "The firms that move first will have more capacity, faster timelines, and a new way to scale their expertise. The US is the largest construction market in the world, and we are building there in person because enterprise trust is won in the room."

The company is hiring in engineering, sales and customer success across the three cities. It is aiming to reach a global headcount of 100 over the next year.

Sector pressure

Construction groups and engineering firms are under pressure to deliver projects tied to digital infrastructure and lower-carbon building standards while also coping with shortages of specialist staff. Endra's expansion reflects broader investor interest in software aimed at industrial and construction work rather than purely digital markets.

Among the engineers involved in localising the product for different regions is Product Engineer Hadla Bergman, who joined Endra from Swedish transport technology company Einride. Part of the work involves adapting the platform to local codes, standards and design workflows in the US and UK, according to the company.

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Niklas Lindgren said the software addresses a long-standing gap in engineering technology. "The industry has spent twenty-five years waiting for software that understands the actual engineering work. That wait is ending," said Lindgren.
