Iveda launches long-endurance helicopter drone line

Iveda has launched IvedaAir, a new line of rotary-wing unmanned aircraft systems aimed at public safety, maritime security, and emergency response users.

The range centres on the GX10-F100, a gas-powered helicopter-style drone that can stay airborne for more than 150 minutes. According to Iveda, that is up to five times longer than many electric unmanned aerial vehicle systems, supporting operations in high winds, remote areas, and coastal environments.

The Arizona-based company says the aircraft are designed to work with its IvedaAI software for autonomous and semi-autonomous missions. The system supports waypoint flights, stabilised hover operations, encrypted video transmission, object and anomaly detection, and image transmission over 4G, 5G, and LTE networks.

Iveda is pitching the line to agencies and operators that need longer-duration aerial surveillance and supply delivery than battery-powered drones typically provide. Target use cases include coast guard and maritime monitoring, search and rescue, law enforcement, firefighting, disaster response, infrastructure inspection, construction surveying, and logistics support in difficult terrain.

Federal route

The aircraft are available for government orders through GlobalMed under the Defence Logistics Agency's Tailored Logistics Support contract vehicle. That route gives federal and defence agencies a way to buy the systems without going through a full traditional acquisition process.

Iveda says the aircraft comply with the National Defence Authorization Act and the Trade Agreements Act. Some models can also be fitted with upgraded communications systems, including FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic modules and components aligned with the Blue UAS framework used by the US Department of Defence.

The launch puts Iveda in a drone market it expects to grow from USD $47.55 billion in 2026 to more than USD $160 billion by 2034. The company is targeting USD $50 million in market share over the next 24 months.

Design focus

Unlike the quadcopter format common in many commercial drones, IvedaAir uses a helicopter-style design. Iveda says the layout offers greater endurance, stability, and payload flexibility for missions requiring longer deployments or flights over open water and rough terrain.

The company also says the programme could create a path to retrofit retired full-size helicopters into autonomous aircraft in future. That approach could help agencies extend the use of existing airframes while cutting the cost of introducing autonomous aviation systems.

Iveda says the drones can be purchased directly by FAA-licensed drone pilots and military-certified pilots, which could shorten deployment times for public safety agencies, maritime operators, and commercial users.

David Ly, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Iveda, said the new line was developed in response to operational limits in existing drone systems.

"Public safety and mission-critical operators have been forced to work within the limitations of drone systems that were never designed for the environments they operate in. This new helicopter line was built to solve that problem - delivering extended flight endurance, real payload capability, and advanced AI intelligence in a secure, American-built platform designed for demanding missions," Ly said.

Partner interest

GlobalMed, Iveda's strategic partner for federal procurement, linked the aircraft to medical and emergency delivery in remote and disaster-hit areas. The company has a background in distributed care infrastructure and federal healthcare delivery.

"Throughout my career, I've been focused on one fundamental challenge: how do we get high-quality medical care and critical resources to people when distance, terrain, disaster, or conflict makes traditional delivery impossible or simply too slow. I believe autonomous drone technology is an important extension of that mission. In emergency response, natural disasters, remote environments, and on the battlefield, minutes matter. The ability to rapidly deliver medical supplies, diagnostic equipment, communications capability, or other lifesaving resources when conventional transportation cannot meet the urgency has tremendous potential. The launch adds a new aircraft category to Iveda's broader business in video surveillance, artificial intelligence search tools, and connected public safety systems. It also gives the company an entry into the smaller market for commercially available helicopter-style unmanned aircraft, which remains less crowded than the fixed-wing and quadcopter segments.

Iveda says the systems are intended for persistent overwatch, reconnaissance, incident monitoring, and emergency delivery where operators need aircraft that can remain in the air for extended periods. The GX10-F100's endurance of more than 150 minutes is central to that pitch.
