Rockwell Automation has expanded its SecureOT portfolio with three cybersecurity offerings aimed at manufacturing and critical infrastructure organisations.
The additions are the OT Cybersecurity Assessment Suite, SecureOT Platform Managed Services and Managed Secure Remote Access. Rockwell also updated its OT Cybersecurity Policy & Procedures offering as part of its broader push in operational technology security.
Manufacturers face growing pressure to strengthen cyber defences in plant environments while maintaining production. Security teams in operational technology settings also contend with high alert volumes and limited visibility into connected assets, which can slow detection and response.
The assessment suite is a modular service for industrial environments at different stages of security planning. It combines operational technology data collection with business-focused reporting and uses proprietary artificial intelligence and machine learning models to standardise analysis and speed evaluation.
The service is intended to give operators a clearer view of current exposure and a structured remediation plan. It was built by specialists in operational technology environments rather than adapted from information technology tools.
Managed support
Rockwell has also added managed services for its SecureOT Platform, its risk and vulnerability management system. The offering includes platform updates, asset discovery, inventory management and ongoing support through technical account managers.
It is designed to help customer security teams continuously prioritise risks and address cyber exposure without creating unnecessary downtime. The service is aimed at organisations that need regular oversight of operational technology assets but do not want to expand internal specialist teams.
Remote connectivity is another focus of the expansion. Managed Secure Remote Access is a cloud-routed service designed to connect operational technology assets in a centrally managed environment, with controls based on user identity.
The vendor-neutral service is intended to simplify remote access for plants and other industrial sites. It is aimed at supporting faster troubleshooting and collaboration with outside vendors while reducing the workload on in-house teams.
The updated policy and procedures service complements those operational tools. Built by the company's governance, risk and compliance specialists, it provides documentation aligned with international standards and frameworks for organisations seeking to formalise operational technology security programmes.
Industrial focus
The launch reflects a broader shift in industrial cybersecurity toward managed services and continuous monitoring, as manufacturers seek to protect ageing and mixed-technology estates. Unlike conventional office IT systems, operational technology environments often include legacy equipment, specialist protocols and production constraints that make security changes harder to implement.
Remote access has become a particular concern for industrial operators as plants rely more heavily on outside engineers, support providers and distributed operations. Managed services have gained ground as companies try to balance tighter security requirements with shortages of operational technology expertise.
The wider SecureOT suite is intended to help manufacturers assess, protect and improve their operational technology security posture over time. Rockwell also linked the new services to its product security work across the automation lifecycle, including its IEC 62443-4-1 Maturity Level 4 certification for secure product development.
Maria Else, Senior Global Product Manager, Cybersecurity Projects, at Rockwell Automation, outlined the rationale for the expansion.
"Understanding the current state of the OT environment is the foundation for defining the future," said Maria Else, Senior Global Product Manager, Cybersecurity Projects, at Rockwell Automation. "Manufacturers are under increasing pressure to strengthen cybersecurity without slowing production. With SecureOT, we combine clarity, prioritized action plans and managed expertise to help industrial organizations secure what matters while keeping plants running safely and efficiently. We also leverage technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) to identify vulnerabilities, automation to maintain efficiency and advanced intelligence to support analysis and understand the latest risks."
Rockwell employs about 26,000 people and serves customers in more than 100 countries.
