Tuned Global has partnered with Leel Phone to provide the technology behind a music streaming service for children. The service will sit within Leel Phone's smartphone ecosystem for users aged five to 12.

The partnership centres on Leel Music, a playlist-led service built for a closed digital environment where parents control what children can access. Tuned Global is supplying white-label music apps, content management tools, application programming interfaces, metadata services, explicit-content controls and infrastructure to manage rights across territories.

Leel Phone is handling music licensing and editorial curation, while Tuned Global is providing the platform for catalogue operations, content availability and workflow management. The service is being designed to deliver a family-friendly listening experience through curated playlists rather than open-ended access to mainstream streaming catalogues.

The deal reflects a broader push by makers of children's devices to build wider digital ecosystems instead of offering only restricted handsets or basic parental controls. In this model, music sits alongside messaging, video, games and device management within a controlled setting.

Leel Phone, built by Trackimo, offers both a dedicated handset and a downloadable version of its ecosystem for Android devices. Its system is designed to let parents turn an existing smartphone into a protected children's device without buying new hardware.

The broader product range includes Leel Chat, a communications app for children; Leel Parent, a caregiver control app; Leel TV; Leel Games; and a range of connected accessories. The ecosystem operates as a closed garden, without internet browsing, social media access or third-party app stores.

Music services for children have presented a difficult balance for providers because mainstream platforms are generally built for adults and rely on recommendation systems and catalogues that can be hard to control in child-focused settings. For operators in this segment, age-appropriate selection, content filtering and market-by-market rights are more central than in broader consumer music offerings.

Tuned Global's role is to help Leel Phone manage those operational issues across several countries. The first markets identified for Leel Music are the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

Child-focused model

The planned service is expected to begin with a playlist-based approach, giving Leel Phone tighter control over what appears in the product and how children use it. That structure also provides editorial oversight in a category where open search and algorithmic discovery can create risks for younger users.

For Tuned Global, the agreement adds another specialist use case to a business focused on supplying licensed music infrastructure to other companies rather than operating its own consumer-facing service. It works with clients in sectors including telecoms, gaming, fitness, health, media and aviation.

Its platform is used to integrate commercial music into apps and digital services, handling functions such as rights management, metadata, analytics and streaming application support. In this case, the emphasis is on content control and territorial management within a product built specifically for children.

Con Raso, Founder and Managing Director of Tuned Global, framed the deal as part of a broader shift in children's technology. "Kids' technology companies are no longer simply building safer devices. They're building complete digital ecosystems that children genuinely want to use and parents can confidently trust.

Music is an incredibly powerful part of childhood, but delivering it responsibly requires much more than adding a streaming player. Providers need the right licensing model, content management capabilities, metadata, editorial controls and rights-aware infrastructure from day one.

We're proud to support Leel Phone with our Music Cloud Platform as it brings a safe, curated music experience into its child-first ecosystem and shows what's possible when safety, technology and entertainment are designed together," Raso said.

Natalie Antoshchuk, Chief Marketing Officer of Leel Phone, said the company wanted the music offering to match the standards applied elsewhere in its platform. "Music is an important part of the experience we want to create for children, but it has to meet the same standards of safety and trust as every other part of the Leel ecosystem.

We chose Tuned Global because they understand the unique requirements of building music experiences for children, from catalogue management and content controls through to scalable music infrastructure. The partnership was a natural extension of our company's vision for a safer digital experience for children.

Their Music Cloud Platform gives us the flexibility to introduce Leel Music in a carefully curated way today, while creating a future-proof foundation for our music experience to continue evolving as the Leel ecosystem grows," Antoshchuk said.
