Rubrik unveils upgrades for enhanced cyber resilience

Rubrik has unveiled new enhancements to its cyber resilience offerings, targeting increased data protection across cloud, hypervisor, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) platforms.

The new capabilities introduced by Rubrik include Orchestrated Recovery to the cloud for Azure Virtual Machines (VM), allowing customers to automate recovery sequences, conduct scheduled test recoveries, and generate detailed recovery reports. This solution is aimed at reducing the complexity of recoveries and minimising human error.

Arvind Nithrakashyap, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Rubrik, emphasised the company's focus on data security. "Cyber criminals won't stop innovating, and neither will we. Our utmost priority is the security, safety, and appropriate accessibility of our customer's data, regardless of where the data lives," he said. "We are seamlessly integrating new technologies across the world's major cloud platforms, SaaS offerings, and on-premises so our customers can better detect compromised data, enhance the speed of identifying affected data, and accelerate the discovery of clean entry points."

Additionally, the Enterprise Edition for Microsoft 365 has been expanded to aid organisations in rapid response to and recovery from attacks. New features include Sensitive Data Discovery, which focuses on identifying and safeguarding high-risk data, and Prioritised Recovery, which ensures critical data is restored first to facilitate swift operational recovery.

Rubrik has also rolled out Identity Recovery solutions which aim to deliver swift, clean recovery capabilities for Active Directory and Entra ID environments. This solution helps organisations preserve continuity amidst increasing identity-based threats by avoiding the reintroduction of malware or misconfiguration during recovery.

The company has developed new capabilities such as Cloud Posture Risk Management (CPR) to automatically discover and inventory cloud data, mitigating risks and reducing redundant costs by focusing on protecting key data. Rubrik Security Cloud now extends support for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including Oracle Cloud VMware Solution, ensuring secure and unified backup and recovery processes for cloud-based data.

Moreover, Rubrik has expanded data protection to PostgreSQL databases, recognising them as critical components targeted in cyberattacks. This measure is part of efforts to provide a comprehensive data security solution for platforms widely used across various sectors.

With the rising adoption of Kubernetes within enterprises, Rubrik's latest support for Red Hat OpenShift aims to secure these environments with robust, automated backups allowing for quick recovery from cyber incidents. The company also offers protection for Azure DevOps and GitHub integration, facilitating cyber resilience for organisations focusing on continuous integration and development.

Rubrik is also enhancing its security measures for Microsoft Dynamics 365 to ensure organisations can safeguard operational and customer data. This includes solutions such as Sandbox Seeding for Salesforce, intended to prevent errors and expedite the sandbox seeding process for consistent data integrity.

To address identity vulnerabilities, which have become predominant in cyberattacks, Rubrik's Identity Recovery solution enables automated recovery for hybrid identity structures, promising swift restoration without complications.

Furthermore, Rubrik is implementing advanced security features designed for Azure and Amazon Web Services, including anomaly detection and data classification, to preemptively protect against threats. Orchestrated Recovery is set to support Azure VM automation, reducing the complexity associated with recovery sequences.

Serving a need for enhanced threat detection, Turbo Threat Hunting is designed to scan large volumes of data for threats swiftly, an innovation that promises efficient recovery point identification through pre-computed hashes stored within Rubrik's metadata.

Offering a comprehensive range of expanded features, Rubrik aims to support organisations in maintaining operational continuity and resilience against evolving cyber threats.
