Aeris & Verizon link IoT platforms for US localisation
Aeris has formed an inbound IoT connectivity management relationship with Verizon Business, linking Aeris IoT Accelerator services with Verizon's ThingSpace platform and US network for multinational deployments.
The arrangement centres on Aeris IoTA Inbound Services, which integrates Aeris's connectivity management platform with ThingSpace. The set-up is designed to cut the time needed to localise devices on US networks to weeks rather than months.
Multinational businesses often run IoT estates across multiple mobile operators and regions. This can mean managing different commercial terms, separate operational tools and inconsistent SIM policies across domestic and international fleets. Aeris and Verizon Business said the integration addresses these frictions by providing a single management architecture spanning US and non-US deployments.
Under the model, organisations can provision and manage devices through one interface across regions, providing a "single pane of glass" for operational control across domestic and international deployments.
US localisation
Aeris said it has already worked with Verizon Business on outbound connectivity, supporting US-based enterprises deploying devices internationally using Aeris IoTA. The new inbound relationship extends that structure by giving global fleets access to Verizon's US network and ThingSpace when local US connectivity is required.
The companies positioned the US market as a difficult landing point for global IoT providers because of platform fragmentation and domestic connectivity complexity. Combining Verizon's network and ThingSpace with the Aeris platform is intended to reduce the number of tools and contracts multinational teams manage.
Mark Cratsenburg, Chief Commercial Officer, IoT Business Unit at Aeris, said: "Global enterprises require a strategic shift away from the inefficiency of juggling numerous connectivity contracts and disparate platforms."
"Through this integration with Verizon, Aeris is delivering a unified solution that allows our tier one global partners to expand their IoT customer solutions into the U.S. market with speed and simplicity while continuing to enable a seamless experience for Verizon customers deploying devices outside of the U.S.," Cratsenburg said.
Shamik Basu, Vice President of Strategic Connectivity & IoT at Verizon Business, said the collaboration gives global customers access to Verizon's connectivity and platforms in the US market. "Our collaboration with Aeris allows us to enrich the IoT experience for global customers by providing them access to our top-class connectivity and platforms in the critical U.S. market," he said.
Basu added: "As IoT becomes increasingly mobile and global, collaborations like this one provide customers unprecedented reach and seamlessness without compromising on reliability and value, which is critical for meaningful international expansion."
eSIM standard
The integration uses the SGP.32 eSIM standard, designed for IoT connectivity. It supports remote provisioning and centralised subscription management, simplifying activation and lifecycle changes across borders.
The platform combination also supports 5G use cases, including low-latency and high-bandwidth applications in automotive, industrial automation and smart cities. The companies said the approach suits deployments requiring high device density and more responsive connectivity.
Security is also included. Aeris IoT Watchtower provides unified monitoring and "zero-trust control", according to the companies, and is positioned to deliver security visibility across fleets operating in multiple territories and on more than one network.
Market context
The announcement comes as enterprises expand investment in connected devices, data platforms and automation. Aeris cited IDC research pointing to continuing complexity in IoT roll-outs, particularly for organisations planning to introduce AI and automation into operations. IDC expects overall investment in the global IoT ecosystem to surpass USD $1 trillion in 2026, Aeris added.
The partnership also aligns with Aeris's broader role in wireless IoT management and connected vehicle programmes. Aeris said it works with thousands of enterprise customers and mobile network operator partners, with more than 100 million IoT devices in its ecosystem.
Verizon Business provides IoT connectivity and management services through its network footprint and the ThingSpace platform. The combined offer is aimed at multinational customers with device fleets spanning the US and other markets, with US localisation a near-term focus.
