Cloud5 has signed a definitive agreement to acquire interTouch CALA, extending its reach across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The transaction covers interTouch's business in South and Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean, giving Cloud5 a broader presence in a region where hotel groups are increasing investment. Cloud5 already serves more than 5,000 hotels across North America.

The acquisition supports Cloud5's push to provide technology and communications services to hotel owners, management companies and brands across the Western Hemisphere. interTouch CALA has operated in the region for more than two decades and focuses on hotels.

The agreement will allow Cloud5 to offer its existing hospitality services to interTouch CALA customers, including managed IT, cyber security, service desk support, project management, internet access, telecommunications, in-room entertainment, free-to-guest television and contact centre operations.

Mark Holzberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cloud5, said the move reflects customer activity in the region.

"Many of our largest customers are making significant investments in CALA, expanding their portfolios and committing infrastructure resources to the region," said Mark Holzberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cloud5 Communications.

"We see the same opportunity and are investing to partner alongside them. Establishing a stronger local presence with experienced teams and deep market knowledge positions us to support existing customers more fully while building the foundation for Cloud5's continued growth across the Americas," Holzberg said.

Managed IT

The acquisition comes as Cloud5 invests more heavily in managed IT services. Since launching a dedicated managed services provider division in 2023, it has added hospitality-focused technical staff, expanded service delivery operations and grown its cyber security and professional services capabilities.

The strategy is aimed at taking on more day-to-day technology work for hotel owners, operators and management companies as hotel IT systems become more complex. Earlier this year, Cloud5 opened an expanded Managed IT Service Desk, Operations and Logistics Centre in the St. Louis area, more than doubling its footprint there and adding support capacity for managed services, customer support and logistics.

Holzberg has described the market as broader than conventional IT support.

"Hospitality companies are reevaluating how they structure their technology organizations as their environments become more complex and their internal teams are asked to manage more," Holzberg said.

"The opportunity for Cloud5 goes well beyond resolving IT tickets. We can bring together hospitality expertise, day-to-day technology management and professional services to help customers build more scalable and effective IT operations," he said.

Regional shift

For interTouch, the sale marks a shift in focus toward Asia Pacific. Its Executive Chairman said the company had been seeking a buyer that would continue serving customers and staff in the CALA business while investing in the next phase of growth.

"interTouch has operated in the CALA region for over two decades, servicing the finest hotels, as it does all over the world. With our primary focus now in Asia Pacific, we were looking for the right company to acquire interTouch CALA and evolve its next phase of growth," said Ted Helvey, Executive Chairman of interTouch.

"Supporting our customers and employees is always our top priority, which is why we chose Cloud5 based on its deep hospitality expertise, shared commitment to customer and employee success, and willingness to make meaningful investments in the business. Cloud5 brings the scale, resources and processes needed to expand opportunities for our customers in this region while preserving both our experienced talent and trusted relationships that have long defined interTouch CALA," Helvey said.

Cloud5 has also gained recognition for its managed services business as it scales. Cyber Defence Magazine named the company the Managed Services winner in its 2025 Top InfoSec Innovator Awards, while CRN ranked it No. 293 on its Solution Provider 500 and included it in its Fast Growth 150 list.

The companies expect the transaction to close this month.
